Osasuna Calls 22 Players for Season Finale Against Getafe
The Rojillo boss addressed the media ahead of tomorrow’s clash against Getafe
Osasuna head coach Alessio Lisci addressed the media ahead of tomorrow’s road match against Getafe. "It’s a final," Lisci emphasized, adding, "In finals, there is no option for a draw, and tomorrow there is that option, but it’s a final and it’s a win-or-go-home game."
Lisci said the mental aspect is important, and regaining confidence is key. "I think we’ve deserved more in our recent matches, and this bit of pressure, when you’re not winning or start to lose confidence, has shown. We need to recover that because tomorrow, we have to try to play with a clear head and reset to zero," he said. Lisci described it as "a game that requires a cool head, attention to detail, and strong competition. We’re facing an opponent that does a lot of things well, attacks with many players, and is a tough, physical side. Their place in the standings proves it. It’s a match where we have to stay focused for all 90 minutes plus stoppage time."
The Osasuna coach said, "We need to focus on our own game and let whatever happens elsewhere happen. We’re fortunate that our fate is in our own hands, and we can’t waste that opportunity." Lisci also discussed the opposition. "We have to understand we’re facing a well-drilled, well-coached team. People make the mistake of saying Getafe is only competitive and physical, but they do a lot of things well. It’s no coincidence—their coach has been building this project for many years, and you can see the results. We need to play a complete game to get a result there."
Asked about the absence of Osasuna fans at the Coliseum, Lisci said, "Of course, we always want our fans with us—there are no words for them, they’re incredible. Not having them is a shame, but that’s just the situation. What we need to do is make sure they’re proud of us from home." He added, "I have no doubt they’ll be supporting the team. They have to trust us. We haven’t had the run of results we wanted recently, but the team is ready to give everything on the pitch, and they’ll see that tomorrow. So, trust us 100%."
